Andrew Nordin (Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences) received the New Balance Footwear Research Award. This competitive student research initiative provides footwear for up to three deserving projects on a biennial basis. His application, "Characterizing Impact Kinetics in Running with Changes in Footwear and Footstrike using Principal Component Analysis," was selected to be funded. The graduate student will be provided with 52 pairs of shoes, at a value of approximately $5,200, to carry out his research. He also has been awarded the , which covers tuition, fees, full health insurance benefits, and provides a stipend each semester. Candidates for this fellowship are nominated by their department chair or graduate coordinator.
