Karla Lagunas' midway art exhibition, Kin(k), is on view from March 18 to 29. A closing reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 29.

Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ the Artist

Karla Lagunas (MFA 2025)  is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the fluidity of artistic boundaries and hierarchies. Through immersive installations, Lagunas invites viewers on a journey of emotional connection and sensory exploration, dissolving borders between inner and outer worlds. Informed by experiences with neurodiversity, Lagunas seeks to foster understanding of diverse emotional landscapes.With a BA in art and art history, currently pursuing an MFA at UNLV, Lagunas invites viewers to embrace new perspectives and discover the limitless possibilities within their own lives. Lagunas has exhibited in local and regional galleries including the Barrick Museum of Art in Las Vegas, and the Palo Alto Art Center in Palo Alto, California. She has collaborated on experimental performances, and co-organized the inclusive performance art event RADAR. She is a recipient of a Graduate and Professional Student Association Sponsorship Grant to support her upcoming midway exhibition (spring 2024). She was an attendee of the 2023 interdisciplinary a2ru Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio and an artist-in-residence of the invitation-only ZForge at Drop Forge and Tool in Hudson, New York for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
